Beltane: the season of becoming
Abundance journal, crystal pen and healing crystals. Representing Beltane energy and new beginnings.
There’s a moment each year where something shifts.
Not loudly.
Not all at once.
But quietly, almost without you noticing.
You start to feel a little lighter.
A little more open.
Like something in you is beginning to wake up again.
That’s where we are now.
At the start of May, we move into what’s known as Beltane, an ancient seasonal turning point that marks the transition from spring into early summer.
Traditionally, it was a time of fire, flowers, and celebration.
A moment to honour life, energy, and everything beginning to grow.
But you don’t need to follow tradition to feel it.
Because this shift isn’t something you learn.
It’s something you recognise.
Beltane is about life force energy returning.
It’s the feeling of:
wanting more from your days
reconnecting with yourself
noticing small sparks of excitement again
feeling ready (even just slightly) for something new
After months of being inward, reflective, or just getting through…
this is where things begin to move.
And the most important part?
You don’t need to rush it.
This isn’t about becoming a completely new version of yourself overnight.
It’s about allowing what’s already there to gently rise to the surface.
Your desires.
Your energy.
Your sense of self.
So instead of asking
“What should I be doing right now?”
Try asking:
What do I want more of in this season?
What feels like it’s waking up in me?
What am I ready to receive?
Let the answers be simple.
Let them be honest.
If you want to mark this moment in your own way, it doesn’t need to be complicated.
It can be as small as:
lighting a candle in the evening
sitting in the morning light for a few minutes
writing a few thoughts down without overthinking
choosing to pay attention to what feels good
These are the moments that bring you back to yourself.
It’s about remembering that you’re allowed to feel alive again.
And meeting that version of you, gently, without pressure.
If you feel that shift, even slightly…
follow it.
Create space for it.
Write it down.
Return to it.
This is where things begin.
